As mentioned already by Phonogal and in a previous thread, green stained oak was in vogue around the turn of the twentieth century. Not only on Phonographs, but also on oak home furnishings.

Perhaps not as popular with the establishment (it was considered 'avant garde') as the number of pieces found today are few and far between.

We have a Grand Rapids Co. china in this wonderful stain. This stain is also susceptible to fading from UV exposure and many pieces can be over looked as typical.

However, if you know what to look for or can access the interior of a piece, you may get a very pleasant surprise.

When new, the hue was almost a lime green color.

Personally, I think the finish is fantastic.
