Humm. I got mine at least a week ago. (And as usual read it cover to cover the same day.)

If I had only waited three more days instead of posting on the 12th...

My copy of the March 2016 APS journal arrived today --- in a clear plastic "bag" with an enclosed, addressed cover sheet (instead of the usual bi-fold, addressed, tan paper wrap --- new packaging???). Arrived a bit tattered and bent, but I finally got it.

If these are indeed mailed out of Milwaukee, WI (only 100 miles from me), I would love to know where this copy has been/traveled in the last two+ weeks!

The new packaging is an attempt on the part of the APS to protect the journal while in transit. It's hoped that this will help them to arrive in good condition in spite of the long circuitous routes they may travel courtesy of the USPS... :?

I heard from the APS Vice-President today, and his copy has not yet arrived. I'm glad the APS doesn't send perishable materials to its members! :)

Ah, the wonders of periodicals mail service. I sometimes wonder if they don't route it all through Timbuktu, using very slow boats and camels in the process. ;)

But whatever the case The Antique Phonograph is always a good read when it does arrive.

Well, I received my issue finally last week. It wasn't through any fault of the APS, it was, in fact, an issue with the local post office, and the APS graciously replaced my missing issue; for which I am grateful!

I really liked the issue!

Great articles on the "Brooks Automatic Repeating Phonograph" (Shawn O'Rourke), the Manhattan Phonograph Co. "coin-op" (Rene Rondeau), and I especially enjoyed George Paul's article delving into the humanistic side of four very late Diamond Discs that were part of his recent Schubert acquisition; all having to do with aeronautics in the late '20s, of which I know (embarrassingly) precious little.

And, of course the entire content was wonderful -- as always. I humbly reserve judgment for my small contribution, and I hope everyone enjoyed it. ;)

Best,
