I am asking $1250.00 for this beautiful original Edison Home Model-E 2/4 minute phonograph with a very nice black cygnet horn and original crane. It has the original horizontal carriage arm and comes with both a Model-C and Model-H reproducer, and reducer ring. The only issue is there is a small piece of veneer missing on the lid.
I can deliver it to the Union or Wayne Show at no additional cost. Please PM with any questions.
First to say SOLD gets it.
For an additional $200.00 I will replace the C & H reproducers with a Model-O reproducer.
Thanks for looking.

Not sure what you mean when you say "a Model E with the 2-minute gearing blocked off"

Rich I meant to say the mechanically the Model E and F are exactly the same machine except for a slight modification so that the F will only play in the 4 minute mode. I guess it allowed Edison to introduce it as a new model.
Btw, unless one just want's to say he has an F model, the E is a lot more practical. Outfitted with an O reproducer and a diamond B you can play pretty much anything.

Re: FOR SALE: EDISON HOME MODEL-E ($1250.00)
I have a Home Model "F" in equally nice shape as the one offered, equipped with an oak cygnet horn. It is one of my favorite machines. It is true that model was "blocked off" to play only 4M cylinders. When I bought the "F" years ago, I did not realize then that 4M-only was a "feature" - I figured there had been an oversight at the factory. However, it was fairly easy to convert to dual operation. I recall drilling a hole inside the clutch mechanism and inserting a short metal pin so that the clutch would engage in the 2M position. Yes, that little modification spoiled the pristine configuration, but it is invisible and was a practical thing to do. I replaced the diamond reproducer with a Model "O".

Re: FOR SALE: EDISON HOME MODEL-E - $1250
I was looking through some recent posts and found this one about Rich's Home "E" and the added info about the Home "F". I have a Home "F" with oak cygnet horn. According to Frow, they were produced in 1911, and were designed to play only 4 minute Blue Amberol cylinders as they were equipped with a Diamond B reproducer. I was confused by Vintage Technologies' description of how he converted an "F" to play both 2 and 4 minutes by drilling into the clutch
My "F" (virtually identical to an "E"), could easily be converted to play two minute records. Inside the clutch is a small collar that slips over the end of the shaft. The collar limits the movement of the clutch, so that only the 4 minute speed can be used. Removal of the collar allows full movement of the clutch--thus allowing either 2 or 4 minute speeds to be chosen--just like the "E". Close examination of mine shows that the gold "2-4 minute" marking on the bedplate was carefully painted over. I've seen one other Home "F" with the same paint modification.
Within the next couple of weeks I will post pictures of my "F", as it will be for sale in the Yankee Trader section with delivery to Wayne.
