New Century Reproducer

Post by Phono-Phan »

I also recently bought a New Century reproducer. Were these for the Eldridge Johnson machines or early Victor machines? I am tempted to rebuild it with new gaskets but I wonder if it is best left alone as a survivor. What are the thoughts on this one? The markings on the face are hard to read through the mica.

Good question. I don't imagine it would sound much different from an Exhibition
so I would leave it as found.

My NC came on a Victor A that is in my collection. If you are going to try and use it - I would replace the gaskets. You would have to in order to have it sound decent. But if there is no intention of hear it play on a machine I would not bother. John
