(No connection.)
Saw this VV-XVI on my local craigslist.(Look like the feet are missing from the view of the photo.) I myself am not interested, but thought I'd still share it.
I think you could haggle the price down, but missing feet it's still a little iffy.

It's too bad the feet are missing. I don't think it is worth a restoration effort. That's the bad news. Now for the good news... All the good Victrola and Victor horn machine parts are well worth the asking price or at least a good offer. There is good value with the motor, turntable, tone arm, reproducer, crank, crank escutcheon, brake, knobs, parts drawer, and more. I would make an offer if I was within striking distance. Here's the best part... Because the cabinet is not worth a restoration effort, you won't get beat up for selling the parts. I need the bracket for the tone arm. I'll offer $25 for that piece. Buy it! Probably a foot broke off and they did this rather than mend it. To see their side consider it might have happened 50 years ago- they had a snapped off front foot that was too splintery to glue and no specialty cabinet shop to carve a new one - and no inclination to put a lot of money into "just an old Victrola"De Soto Frank wrote:It's an amputee all-right...![]()

Might have to go back in time do that. The damage could've happened at anytime in the last 100+ years.edisonplayer wrote:The person who messed up that fine XVI should be keelhauled!!And,I DON'T mean maybe!edisonplayer

Re: VV-XVI on local Craigslist.
This machine has been listed off and on for a few years. I contacted the seller a couple of years ago and he insisted that the machine came from the factory without the feet....nothing missing at all. Back then, a forum member offered me the feet if I bought the machine, but the seller would not come off the asking price at the time ($400). Back then, no records either. FYI
I checked my old emails, March 2013 was the first time I contacted the seller.
