Edison Army Navy model

Post by Tpapp54321 »

Recently this army nany model Edison popped up on my local craigslist: https://columbus.craigslist.org/atq/5509967415.html
I'd like to make an offer but don't know what a fair offer would be considering the insides are cobbled together. Usually this wouldn't bother me since parts are pretty interchangeable but what other 250 model Edison DD has a nickel plated horn? Opinions would be much appreciated.

Wow, boy do I feel dumb  I assumed that homemade box meant that the stand was homemade. :? But that would would explain every single one of my questions.

Based off if the email conversation me and the owner had he seems to be pretty desperate to get rid of this thing. Maybe if I can get it for less then 50 it could be my portable Edison DD

I have an original Army/Navy. It may have handles but it is far from portable. It take two strong individuals to pick it up. If you have a significant other, you may want to check for an OK. In addition to bulk, they are a bit on the butt ugly side. Really heavy, ugly, and an attempt at a replica. I'm a baseball fan and I call that three strikes. I like my Army/Navy. It only has two strikes against it. Plus DeeDee doesn't have to look at it. Jerry Blais

Well, I tried telling the seller that there are many problems with this machine and that it's not even original but he's convinced that it's seen the German war fronts of WWI  He's expecting it to go for alot and supposedly already has an offer of $304. I just feel bad for the poor fella who's paying that much for this...

Seen the war front in WW1??? I don't even know of an original that made it to the front. Most of them stayed State side.

Years ago I read a story about an air ship that was attempting some sort of record. At their first opportunity they abandoned the Army/Navy machine. I think the ship made regular stops but maybe it was dropped from two thousand feet!
