A customer of mine, a new collector, with a slim pocket but a new collector's enthusiasm e-mailed me this morning to tell me that he was just offered a "Junior Monarch" for $800, and what did I think of it. I told him that "$800 was a pretty good price for a front-mount Victor E, but there are lots of reproduction parts out there. Why not send me some pictures and I will tell you what you have."
So he sent me these pictures:
(Will post as soon as I get into photobucket)
Which are identical to the photos of this machine whic is offerred for sale for $5000.00 by an antique shop in Mineola NY in their website: http://www.htantiques.com/item/101/anti ... gramophone

Re: One does wonder!
It appears that the photographs were used to create an eBay offering, with a beginning price of $9.99. The potential buyer asked a question about the machine and was told that it might be available for just $800.00. He was asked to use the escrow service "Skrill" to submit payment. The number of the fake auction was 172143307290.
What a wild weekend!

Off topic, but I wonder how my new YETI cup holds ice for 2 days? And a cold beer for over 24 hours?

A cold beer lasts me a little under 30 minutes, so 24 hours is overkill!Amberola wrote:Off topic, but I wonder how my new YETI cup holds ice for 2 days? And a cold beer for over 24 hours?
