Re: Shipping a half barrel herzog cabinet
These should not go via FedEx or UPS, due to the shock of their conveyor drops. They must go as palletized freight, whereby only fork lifts or pallet jacks handle the skid. Just this week I safely sent a Herzog full-round cabinet this way from FL to TX.
You might want to review this thread, where I describe in detail the procedure for such shipping, albeit for a different item:

Raphael's advice is excellent, really excellent, but then he is so much more experienced in these matters than 'most anyone else.
Greyhound Package Express is another good alternative. For this you will need to blanket wrap the unit and then build a crate out of 1 ½" foam insulation board. Lap the corners, glue them with foam adhesive and run pins made of coat hanger wire through each lap, then tape the corners with Gorilla tape. A crate of this type may be built out of one seveen of foam and will protect the fragile record cabinet from the ordinary vicissitudes of shipping. Greyhound hand Carey's all of their items. They never are put in a conveyer or automatic sorting machine. I have shipped a couple hundred parcels this way with great satisfaction.

I haven't sold anything yet, just figuring out how to do it safely
