Dog & Baby

Post by MisterTalkingMachine »

Here's one of those brands I had no idea existed until they made themselves obvious. Perhaps, a couple of you saw my earlier post about dismantling the Victor Orthophonic reproducer I found on the flea market. Well, this one came along with it. It's a Dog & Baby reproducer. A quick google search yields many collections of needle tins but not much at all about the company. The diaphragm on this one just needs to rest in peace, still I am curious, what is there to know about this manufacturer?

The attached picture shows front and back, and closeup of the branding with some talcum powder applied to make it show on the camera.

Looks like a cheap knock off of a HMV 5a. Probably made in the UK or India for the South American market. Since you are located there.

I suspect the same, mostly due to the design of the needle tins.
