Last week I was fortunate enough to buy an incredible copy of the Philco Beam of Light demonstration record from fellow forum member Roaring20s (James). It's in impeccable condition and has been reunited with my working Philco Beam of Light Radio/Phonograph.
Enjoy.

Re: Reunited and it feels so goooood...
That is some doggone interesting hype there: Kate says how excited she is that she'll now be able to play her records "as often as one thousand times without fear of wear", and her interlocutor gushes about how "increasing record life ten times is something that all record lovers will appreciate". I hadn't thought that people would have expected a record to have a life as short as a hundred plays. (Although, those red Columbias...)
But then again, it is a promotional record, so whoever wordsmithed the script probably knew the listener would more likely take away "one thousand times" and the idea of records lasting ten times longer on the Beam of Light™ apparatus than anything much from the rest of the skit.
Nice acquisition Vince, and thanks for sharing the sounds finally reunited on the player they were meant to be heard on. That had to be pretty awesome, playing that record on the Philco for the first time. And, with your revolutionary Beam of Light™ you can play it up to 998 more times!

I enjoyed the video and I wanted to congratulate you as well. I own an old radio from the 1920's, but getting it repaired was impossible.
