Hi
I have a chance to buy a very nice side crank VV50. It plays well and looks good. Are they collectible and is 275 too much?
Any opinions?
Thanks Terry

Re: VV 50
That may be on the high side, Terry, in my opinion. If you're considering an oak model, these are generally more desirable in the VV-50 and would likely generate more interest (ie. value). The side crank is the later model. Earlier models had the front crank and screw down turntable as I recall. In a nutshell, if it's mahogany, even in nice shape I'd try to negotiate down. If it's oak, then you're closer but I might try to negotiate to maybe $225. Best, Doug

Re: VV 50
If it's Mahogany I'd say closer to $225 would be better, a bit higher if it's oak (less popular then but more popular now). The VV-50 was a very popular machine and can sound very nice, almost as good as one of the larger table models.
