That poor Sheraton S-19, Hopefully it's gutted parts went to a nice machine somewhere instead of in the trash...but that would probably be wishful thinking...

Well, Alas, It could have been worse, At least it was not the rare Amberola 80 that came in the similar cabinet!!

I hate Shabby Chic too! Why can't they contract some overseas factory to produce crappy furniture painted in all these horrid colors? Sure would save all these people from having to do all that work just to destroy a nice antique.

As for the parts, I've heard of them being thrown in the trash too. Must have been too much work to list them on eBay and, you know, make money and possibly help someone who needs the parts

In my town here in Melbourne, Florida, we have a few of these "Antique Malls" that usually sell mostly old looking junk, but to the discerning eye once in awhile is a good find.. Well, I can't tell you how many times that I have gone to one of these stores every few months and I have seen REAL valuable antique furniture that has had its ORIGINAL FINISH destroyed for the recent "Shabby Chic" look. If the stupid consignor would have just left the piece of furniture alone without painting it and giving it the "distressed" look, They would have probably sold the piece or have gotten double for it!!!! Some people are so stupid!!!
