Give the lid a good cleaning with GoJo (or Goop, or Kotton Kleanser, or whatever you prefer), and see what the finish looks like then. (I have a Standard B with excellent original finish, and it is.rather dark). Then match the case to that.
The original finish was shellac, so a water based stain would be good.

Bill, Croakinfrog (Mark Gaisser) from Upstate NY sells original handles and anchors with nuts on ebay, also repros are available also from most phonograph vendors on the web.
