Hi All,
I have just one Columbia machine and a client called and referred me to a friend that has what I think is a BK-but not sure. In fact I am not sure what it might be missing except the top-that is gone. Decals are toast and it does not run-but cranking it does show that the springs have resistance. The horn screws into the arm bracket. Everything needs to be cleaned and redone. So what am I looking at and what should I offer if I move forwrad I have no experience with this machine.

Thanks for the help
Abe

That's definitely a second-style BKT.

Hi:

I have the earlier style BK, these are nice machines. I will say that mine had a broken spring and would still wind up and work even with the one good spring. I sent my barrels out to George V. and he installed new mainsprings back in 2011. These machines play great, they are best for Indestructible and the new resin type recordings. The Lyric style reproducer will damage the wax recordings quickly.

Agreed. I just bought one identical to this one, except with a slightly different elbow and horn, and in better condition for $550.00.

Thx for the info and help in moving me in the right direction. The machines cost was not very high and it will be a "project" for the near future
