Nice looking cabinet, no grill or grill frame. Not mine, just thought it would be of interest...

Based on the mechanism and the configuration of the drawers, I'd say it's an A250, not B. Pretty scarce machine, especially in oak.

Usually the A-250's have a grained horn and the ID tag behind the horn don't they? At least the one's I've had have been that way. They also have that motor that will fall out if you tip them on their backs. I've seen a number of lids banged up on the inside from that. It's a nice machine though. I have the remains of the sides from one of those that somebody junked out a long time ago.

It looks to me as if someone stuck a Type B (250) horn onto an A mechanism. Notice how high above the turntable trim piece the gold plated neck of the horn is.
I don't see how this would work properly. Just my $.02...

Yes, upon a closer look at the pictures, it does appear suspect.

Re: CL - Oak Edison B250 in Portland, OR
the listing indicates it's a B250, and it looks like one to me (cabinet and mechanism)... why the suggestion that this is actually a mismatched A250 cabinet with B250 parts?

The cabinet lid profile, lip at the top of the turntable compartment frame, and the drawers are all consistant with an A 250 cabinet.brianu wrote:the listing indicates it's a B250, and it looks like one to me (cabinet and mechanism)... why the suggestion that this is actually a mismatched A250 cabinet with B250 parts?
The clincher is the Type A motor plate with the lift lever not being integral to the casting, as with the Type B mechanism.
