Pathé' identification
can anyone tell me anything about this machine. Am I missing tone arm parts? did it have a decal originally etc?

Re: Pathé' identification
Looks like a Pathé machine sold by Girard & co (mail order) circa 1907.
I think that the back bracket , tone arm, crank, speed control, thrower, turntable, and reproducer are correct.
You're right, the connector between the tone arm and reproducer is missing (see pic).
For the case itself, I don't know... Has it been stripped? (on the other hand, some machines sold by Girard & co did not have any decal.)
Nice machine!

Re: Pathé' identification
It is a French Pathé pre 1920 but the back bracket and tone arm are not Pathé. The soundbox is correct but with an adaptation for the extraneous arm. The rest seems authentic.

I finally found a Girard &co 1908 ad for this gramophone...
No decal but a rubber connector rather than the usual Pathé one.

I stand corrected, the whole machine looks authentic. Thanks for posting the advertisement, it adds to the knowledge base of Pathé.

Re: Pathé' identification
Thanks a lot for the information! It has definitely been stripped and it appears all the screws were replaced with zinc ones at some point. Now I just need to add the horn and elbow to the hunt list.

The horn and elbow are pretty easy to find in the French ebay, if you want to pay the shipping cost. Every week there is one or two for sale, ones with original paint in good shape are rarer but if you are patient you can find one.
