WANTED: Edison model "M" reproducer

Post by Chilesave »

Does anyone have or know of someone who would sell their model "M" reproducer?

I saw the one on Ebay; but, the bin price of $1450 is too high for me.

I would be willing to pay a fair price for one.

thanks,

I would think that is about what you will pay for an "M" unless you luck out and find one that the person doesn't know the value of it.

I'm afraid that is a realistic price. I bought one for a friend in Union seven years ago and paid $1,300 for his. I called him in Norway and said, "Hey, you'd better buy this, they don't grow on trees". I haven't seen too many offered since.

I paid about $1000 for mine. It was only that cheap because the oxidation had been completely stripped off the top. Steve Farmer redid it for me later.

I agree that if you want an M, you need to be willing to spend that kind of money for it. I managed to put one together from parts acquired from 3 different sources but I still had over $1K invested by the time I was done. Previously I had talked to 2 individuals who had them for sale, but the best I could do there was $12 - 1500.
