This DD adapter was the first to be advertised in the Talking Machine World. It is an attachment to play laterally cut records on the new Edison Diamond Disc phonograph. It can be found in the April 1913 issue.
It was formally called the Union No. 1 Attachment. Literally, within months of Edison’s introduction of his first machine designed exclusively to play vertically cut Edison discs, the competition had found a way to play “inferior” laterally cut disks on his preeminent machine. And he was powerless to do anything about it. This Union attachment even offers the improvement of a volume control, something Edison would not introduce until many months later.
This one is in stunning condition. They are very hard to find with the volume control. Add your own Victor or Columbia reproducer and you have a complete set for your DD machine.
The price is $75.00 plus shipping to you. No PayPal on this, but checks are fine.
