Banner Triumph A with raised panels?

You are right. The model A had the banner decal. That looks like a B that should have just the Edison script?

Is it possible that the early Triumph Model B's had the banner decal like the other early model B's? I've seen the early Model B Gems, Standards, and Homes with the banner. Why not the Triumph?

I'd certainly like to see that cabinet in person!
I'd also be curious to know the serial number of the machine...

Re: Banner Triumph A with raised panels?
That's the most likely explanation. Edison used up the old decals they had before putting the new ones on: the same thing happened with the Home Model A and the red banner decals.Phonofreak wrote:Is it possible that the early Triumph Model B's had the banner decal like the other early model B's? If I remember correctly the A/B Triumphs are already in the case with just "Edison" on the front. I'd like to see this machine myself. Jerry Blais

Re: Banner Triumph A with raised panels?
From Edison Cylinder Phonograph Companion by Frow, RE: Triumph model B: "After a short time the single word 'Edison' replaced the banner decal in the summer of 1906, as the banner had been thought intrusive." Since the Triumph B came out in July of 1906, at least a small amount left the factory carrying the banner decal. 1994 edition, page 70.
