I am so confused. About a year ago, I found this table model VV-XI, yes it was one where someone parted out most of the good parts and replaced with makeshift parts from another machine.
I was looking at some photos of the VV-XI being offered for sale by our fellow forum member in the Yankee Trader, and I noticed that the lid support seems to just be a type with two screws into the lid. The one that is in my machine is gold but is held with 4 screws?
I am wondering if mine is appropriate to the machine or if it was swapped? I don't see the reason why someone would have swapped a gold lid support for another one?

Re: VV-XI Table Model Lid Support
I think that the 4 screw lid support is used on later models. Both my L-door XVI and my table top VV-X use a two screw lid support. I don't have a table top VV-XI myself, so I cannot directly confirm what is correct there.

2 screws is proper. I have one and you can have it for postage if you would like it. PM Sent John

Re: VV-XI Table Model Lid Support
My 1918 XI upright has a lid support upper mounting with four screws: the plate is kind of shaped like a clover-leaf, the screws are about 1 inch apart ?
