Victor Monarch- Looking for Help In Cincinnati

Post by Joe Busam »

I'm looking for someone within a reasonable distance of Cincinnati to rebuild my Victor M motor and provide some cosmetic work on the cabinet. I have no tools or experience and would appreciate paying a qualified repair person. Thanks.

There are very reputable people around the country to service your spring motor. It might require careful packing and insurance but the motor itself is not very large and the expense should be moderate. I wish you would post a photo of your cabinet so we could give our opinions on what needs to be done. I think you'd get several responses. The "Links" section of the Forum should give you several options on servicing the spring motor. Jerry Blais

Thanks, Jerry. In a nutshell, I purchased replacement fluted corners from George Vollema at Great Lakes Antique Phonograph. Unfortunately, in order to fit properly they need to be trimmed. I don't have the proper tools to make these delicate cuts. Once done I'd like to have them mounted on the cabinet. I can post photos.
