ANOTHER HOME A
I just got this machine. Haven't had time to clean it, but it looks like a nice one. It plays on the 2 and 4 minute sides well. Even came with a good model C. Although it's a miracal it made it to me safely.

Re: ANOTHER HOME A
Has a nice green oak finish, and the added 2/4 minute gearing is a nice addition. The automatic is good to use on brown wax; also a model B works too, only you want to find the B's with the lighter weight, some model B's have weights that are heavier than the C, and will actually wear the brown wax faster. When brown waxes were new, it was expected to get 100 plays from them with some degradation of the high frequency response, and the surface noise increasing but not too much change after that 100 play mark. Those brown waxes are now about four times there original hardness as some of the oils have evaporated out of them. Having made over 10,000 new brown wax records (wax compound included)the compound is fairly soft for about a year, and after that can be played with any two minute reproducer, thousands of times even the C, or O but a recording made on a brown wax blank, moulded a week before will wear out at about 25 plays. However I digress ORIGINAL brown wax cylinders are precious, and each one may be a unique recording I myself usually digitize the original brown wax and make a copy of it on a new brown wax blank(not on a shaved original, but brand new one.), and the copy I make with my process is louder in volume, and I also in a program bring out the clarity and low end . However most people don't have the skill or luxury of making there own brown wax blanks and having good recording skill, but I do suggest with your new machines, to get a good recorder and some blank cylinders and have fun. By the way the Edison Gold Moulded records are two minute records and played with the C reproducer in the two minute gearing. Amberol
and Blue Amberol cylinders are played in the four minute setting with an H reproducer. Black Wax four minute Amberols can't be played with a diamond reproducer, but sapphire reproducers like the H,k,O,N,N56,and L model reproducers. Celluloid BLUE Amberols, can be played with all the above plus the Edison Diamond A,B,C,D reproducers.
