Marines' Hymn cylinder record?

Here's a dumb question. When was the Marine Corps Hymn written? I don't believe I've seen any recording of it, on disc or cylinder or music box disc, before the start of WW2.

According to Wikipedia the first printed record of the words is from 1917. It is claimed that they are older but no proof has been found.

The tune was lifted from an Offenbach operetta

Steve, I checked in my Edison cylinder list and Indestructible list. I did not see the Marine's Hymn in any of the listings I have. I wonder if the video by Victrolaguy had a new cylinder with the Hymn? Thank you for your service.

I checked my list of Edison and Indestructible cylinders. Anchors away is not listed. I do have it on a Victor Batwing record and a Columbia Blue and Gold record. These were recorded in the teens. I was in Navy Supply. I worked with the Marines issuing supplies and stores to them. Great people to work with.
