FOSLER BRAKE for Edison Standard Phonograph

Post by MicaMonster »

Here's a nifty little contraption I recently discovered. You set the strike plate by lifting it and moving it left and right to the desired position to stop the machine. When the carriage engages the plate it releases the spring tensioned actuator which clicks the On/Off lever to stop the machine! I am familiar with the auto stop contraptions for the Edison Home, and only the Babson stop for the Edison Standard Model D. I found a spring for the Fosler....just need to size it for the right tension.

Interesting! Looks like it requires a bunch of holes to be drilled into the bedplate.

Thanks for sharing

From the drawing it looks like it clips onto the top of the case.
