This Edison Long-Playing Diamond Disc console Model No. 2-C is supplied with a Long Play reproducer and a standard Diamond Disc reproducer. The cabinet is #18 dated 1926, which we feel was made in New London, Wisconsin. The cabinet is in good condition with original finish that shows crazing. The finish is Trafalgar brown mahogany. The grill has replacement cloth and only parts of the original ornamentation as seen in the photos. These cabinets first appeared on the market in late 1926. The cabinet measures 37 inches high, 40 inches length and 21 inches in depth.

Phonograph music, previously, was limited on the average to 3-5 minutes. With the introduction of the microgroove Long-Playing Diamond Disc a record could render forty minutes of re-created music. (20 minutes on each side)

The LP reproducer has an "Antique Bronze" finish with spotting and blemishes as shown in photos. The diaphragm and gaskets have been replaced and the reproducer plays nice and clear. The stylus is good, tracks fine. The Standard DD reproducer is correct for this early production as the Edisonic didn't appear until later.

In our early days of collecting we purchased a few of the Long-Play phonographs at local auctions and have two in our collection. In today’s market, parting out this machine may bring more money. However, we would like to have it stay together and perhaps be enjoyed by a collector who appreciates the history and technology of the Long-Playing Diamond Disc phonograph.
