That should be no problem Allen. It's right in the Pigale area of Paris. I'm sure there are dozens of any type you like. If you are going there just ask Jalal.

I have no French and that may be a problem talking to Jalal. My wife had enough French to teach it 45 years ago, but from our honeymoon in 2001, I know it is not with her now. I do retain enough German to get along in Germany but Leslie was no help in France. Does Jalal have any English to your knowledge?

I am also sure that there are lots of nice restaurants around the Place de Pigalle. Unfortunately I don't remember any specific name. A little further away is "Le Ciel de Paris", an upscale restaurant on the 56th floor of the Montparnasse Tower. Especially at night it has an amazing view over the lights of Paris with the Eiffel Tower right in front of you. Not cheap, but a beautiful setting for a special dinner. http://www.cieldeparis.com/en/

Do not worry about your limited French. We have been to Paris twice and only once ended up in a restaurant were they did not speak English and we still had a fantastic meal.

I would check with any quality travel book or on line as there are great places to eat in almost every block of every district in Paris.

Jalal speaks perfect English. Most restaurant staff will speak it well enough and will have an English menu.

Hi,
I am glad to hear that Jalal speaks English as I would value his opinion of local offerings. Also I think I have the address of the museum but if it is not open it might be nice to have his store address as a back up point of contact.
Leslie and I know there generally is not a problem except for people on the street. If you need directions look for a hotel and its personnel to get the info.

Jalal's shop is literally right next door to the museum, around the corner on Rue Lallier.

just go three to four blocks away from any tourist location and you will do fine.

Also check out Sandra Gustafson's book, Great Eats Paris (the older version was called Cheap Eats in Paris).......she will help you find the little foodie hidden gems in the city. I have made several trips and have never went wrong with any of her recommendations.
