I looked at the photos when the post was new and I can only guess so I will. If it is phono related, I wonder if it is part of a crane assembly of some sort. Jerry Blais

What kind of phonograph was it found in?
Otherwise it's a whatchamacallit doohickey :lol:

Lol! Your guesses are as good as mine. I think it was inside a cabinet I got. I hate to throw it away and thought I would see if someone identified it. If it was a non-edison cylinder phono related item that I could or might find handy some day, I was planning to offer it to anyone who wanted it.

I'd say keep whatever it is with the machine as part of its history. That's what I do with anything I find in my machines or record albums.
