Amberola 1-A 4/2 switch help PLEASE!

Post by zonophpones7 »

I am restoring an Amberola 1-A mechanism and just finishing the re-assembly...I am having difficulty with the 4-2 minute switch correctly moving the gear left and right. It works sometimes, partially sometimes and not at all sometimes. It is an odd setup and I took pictures of the linkage underneath the bed plate during the disassembly... and I have it back to this configuration. It is likely some simple adjustment that I am unaware of... Any insights are greatly appreciated! I don't own one myself to compare to. Thanks! Gregg Cline

Gregg:
Here's a picture of my 1A linkage, shown from underneath with the pointer set to "2"

Here's what it looks like set to "4"

It looks like your T-shaped linkage piece needs to be repositioned.

Hope this helps!

Bob,
Thanks for the photos... I changed it and it worked like a charm... it is interesting, the photo I posted was the Before picture... so obviously it wasn't working when it came to me. No wonder I was confused!
Thanks again,
Gregg
