FOR SALE: Late VV-XVI in Oak (Project Machine) - $170 OBO

Post by Oceangoer1 »

Fresh from the barn! Literally! Will update with more when I get it back together.

This is definitely a project. Door is detached, I only located a couple of the necessary screws for that door. Missing top keyhole escutcheon, finish is dry, could really do with more shellac. Lots of wear, some veneer missing, but I do have most of the veneer chip out of the front door. Turntable and motor board and motor are missing. No crank. Unfortunately someone had thrown in a plywood board with a 1940's electric/idler turntable, I have that in case you want it.

Tonearm, reproducer, and all knobs are present! I just have them out for cleaning. I will continue to clean as much as I can. Some of the biggest spiders I have EVER seen crawled out of this  They looked dead, but apparently were not! This machine will be free of dust, dirt, and flora and will be treated for insects.

The inside looks golden oak but the outsides are probably faded. I'll see what I can do to correct that.

This can be transported to Union or delivered in the Memphis, TN area, or I can meet someone within a reasonable distance from Memphis. This seems like a very worthy project and since it needs a substantial amount of work apart from the cleaning, the price will reflect that.

Price reduced. Here is where this machine stands.

I have cleaned it, and it is complete except for a motor board, motor, turntable, and crank. I also got an escutcheon for the top key hole, but I'm not sure how it fits in there. I have most of the veneer piece for the left horn door. Also, lots of loose veneer on the bottom to use for repair of the chips.

I do not plan to keep this machine, and the price is all the money I have in the machine right now (I thought I would be getting a motor, but I missed out on one)

Also, I have a 12 inch turntable and crank from an XI that I can throw in with it. The turntable can be painted to match the gold hardware, as can the crank (if the crank fits, I'm not sure if it will)
