I got this Colonial Model C Brunswick last Saturday for $50. It's not in the best shape, looks like someone's Charlestoned on the top. But it does have a nice 3 spring Brunswick motor. (I just had to swap out one broken spring to get it working.) It's going to need the tonearm base, key hole cover, tonearm, and double Ultona. I'm going to see if I can get them all at the same time. I may make a post in the Yankee Trader section later.

I just wanted to share it, for $50 I couldn't have gone that wrong.

I like Brunswick machines. If you have the room for a console, they are great! Too bad you are missing the heart of the mechanism, but I don't think they are hard to find. You didn't mention the crank, so I guess you have it. Good luck.

I was lucky to get the motor and crank both in pretty good shape. I always hear it's harder to find cranks for console models than uprights. Someone had put in a generic electronic reproducer and tone arm similar to an Orthophonic. And that's what happened to the original tone arm and reproducer. It was a rather easy motor to work on.

It was really a last minute impulse buy because of the price. It's sadly going to be stuck in my garage for a while until I move some stuff around and finish working on it.

I like'em too. With a rebuilt Ultona reproducer and the tone arm sealed up with a little grease the sound is very pleasing indeed.

The book by R.J.Wakeman about Brunswick phonographs on the APS's website is fantastic! I highly suggest it if you haven't read it. I just started reading it and I ran into an ad for the colonial. (I take no credit for finding the ad at all.)

Nice find. Definitely should clean up nice and the parts should not be too hard to find. If you can send us pics to show us your progress along the way.
