How to transport a Diamond Disc machine

I am going to be buying a C-150 or C-250 in the next few weeks and as such, I'll need to transport it. I will have to lay the machine down when moving it. I know that I have to remove the reproducer, records, and turntable. I do know that the horn also needs to be immobilized with rags or something like that. Is there anything else that I need to do? I will not be able to fully disassemble the machine in the shop I'm buying it from though.

All good. You could also lower the tonearm and horn unit in addition to your rags and such. I would secure the lid, and remove the crank as well, so it doesn't get bumped.

By "lower the horn" you mean to take it as far to the right as possible and lower it as if I was playing a record?

I would remove the grille also. They are very easily broken.

Yep. That will engage the advance gear, and keep it in place, but it will move if jarred.

Does anyone have a copy of any unpacking instructions that Edison put out? Those might give you some tips or food-for-thought.
