EDISONIA RECORDS

Post by billybob62 »

Does anyone know if EDISONIA RECORDS is out of business or just dormant?

I have not seen any releases for sale on ebay in a while. I am also wondering if Edisonia is still in business?

Don't worry, he is alright and still there. He is just very busy at his main job. I have had these moments also coming and going in the past.

I am sure he is in business but just busy. He is not old enough to retire, so he has a real job. I understand that those kind of resin records take a whole day, each to make. So if someone say orders 6 of them that would be about 48 hours of work or more. (and that is NOT in a continuous chunk, but I am sure spread over a few days.)

You can't make a living producing cylinders, you just pay for your materials and never your time. When I make blanks, or records I make around $1.00 an hour if I am lucky. I am still making blanks and cylinders, but I do not accept orders. I take some to Union, and put some on my website. However I think it is time to enjoy the blanks and cylinders I make (at least when I get a few more things out the door.) and I am going to record what I feel like, and more concentrate on recordings than blanks. I will just make blanks for recordings I make. I will send surplus to some of my special friends.

I made a purchase of a couple of cylinders several days ago and received this email today...

"Thank you very much for your purchase.

My father had been in the hospital (cancer diagnosis) but has come home today. I am a little behind in processing orders as I spent most of my time at the hospital with him this past week.
I hope to have your order out by the end of this coming week, or a week from Monday at the latest.
Thank you again for your order, patience & understanding.

An illness in the family can be rough. Looks like this has been keeping those good folks rather busy at this time.
Lets keep them in our thoughts and prayers.
Thanks,
Dave

Very sorry to hear of this news. I will definitely keep Robs father, Rob and his family in my thoughts and prayers. This is a difficult time for him.
