Great song. In the early 60's a late collector up here was a close friend of Harry Woods. I have the sheet music for this song signed by Harry Woods. He wrote "May the "Robin" always keep "Bobbin" for you".

Not to highjack your thread. I thought you may like to see a side of Harry that most would never see. While he was co-writing "When The Moon Comes Over The Mountain", he shares with his good friend how the title was supposed to be...."When The Moon Comes Over The Mountain, I'll Be Mountin' Somebody's Moon" .
He then writes..." later, when under construction, we chopped the hind end off and made it decent".
He clearly had quite a sense of humor.
Harry M Woods was killed on January 14 1970 after being hit by a car right outside his home.

Re: WANTED: When The Red Red Robin Comes Bob Bob Bobbing Alo
I've got a copy by the Ipana Troubadours on Columbia 662-D, under the direction of Sam Lanin, recorded May 25, 1926. Now if I could just find it. Here is the record on YouTube:billybob62 wrote:78 RPM by Sam Lanin's Orchestra with Irving Kaufman's vocals, Earl Oliver's growling trumpet, Red Nichols's bouncy cornet, Miff Mole's trombone, Andy Sannella & Alfie Evans's alto saxes & clarinets, Lucien Smith/Schmidt's tenor sax & clarinet, Frank Black's piano, Tony "Toots" Colucci's banjo, Joe Tarto's tuba & Vic Berton's drums.
