Re: Record Cabinet

Post by tomb »

I have a cabinet very similar in appearance. It is a Columbia so the same cabinet maker could have made cabinets marked for different companies. It is marked Columbia and has record holders in it and the same needle holder. I will send a few extra pics Monday as I am out of town most weekends. I have one picture of the top but it has an Edison F on it as I have stored a lot of my disc machines. I had a Columbia on it before. My cabinet was too nice to put away so I am using it for the Edison. No place for the record cylinders though....... I agree that you should cut a piece of wood to fit and put felt on it so it will not scratch the cabinet. It will make a nice display for your machine. Tom B

I would love to see the entire cabinet. Does the inside have record slats?

Some of these cabinets had numbered record slats. Mine does. Others had a simple shelf to hold albums. Does anyone know who the manufactured was?

I have a Victor VV-VIII. It would be perfect for that if you decide to sell it. Getting it to me would be a potential problem.

Here are pics of my Columbia cabinet. The needle holder looks identical along with the feet I did not have help to get the cabinet out so I did what I could. I hope this helps you. It hold a ton of records in nice files. That cabinet seems original.. Tom B

That looks like mine so I now know what machines will work. Thanks for the pictures.
Here's one that will put a smile on your face. It came from Paul Edie and is a nice machine.

I need to stop by sometime soon to see what you have gotten recently...
