I know what you mean. I had one with the louvered speaker in the lid. Some guy literally stole it for $150 at Elephant's Trunk flea. Whatta dope I am....

The 163 is my favorite portable. They sound really good, using the viva-tonal reproducer, and are high quality machines - the wood is beautiful and the gold-tone hardware adds to make it look very high class. Plus the clever side panels help make more of a "horn" which also helps it sound better.
This auction is certainly high in price but the free shipping saves probably $75 for this heavy thing.
I'd pay $150 any day for one, but sure would not let mine go for that!

I've contacted the seller a few times because this one is pretty close to me. He said he is confident that it will sell for no less than $600, but has relisted it many many times and frequently discounts it to $400 something. So maybe in a few more weeks he will be willing to bargain
