Hello,
Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadian collectors. My wife took this picture of me this morning in my Phono Cave. I was listening to cylinder # 2287, O Canada Gillette & mixes chorus on my Amberola 1-B.
Have a great day.
Pete

Happy Canada Day to you too, from a United Empire Loyalist... glad you didn't use that phrase "man cave"...

Pete, very nice setup you've got there. At first I didn't even see you behind all the machines.
Cheers!

Nicely displayed collection! What happens if you find one more treasure? Loose the chair

Happy Canada day!!! Apropos of which, could someone help me find a mahogany Canadian Berliner? I encountered one many years ago when I was an enthusiastic kid with no money. I recall the wide, low mahogany case with delicate columns. Loved how it sat on the table. But the guy selling it wouldn't let me pay it off.
It was this model, I think.

Try placing a 'want' ad in our Yankee Trader. You never know what response you may get..Panatropia wrote:Happy Canada day!!! Apropos of which, could someone help me find a mahogany Canadian Berliner? Thanks. That's it. I was offered it for $600 back in 1982 by a well known restorer/dealer in Floral Park NY. Never forgot it.gramophone78 wrote:Try placing a 'want' ad in our Yankee Trader. It was this model, I think.. The machine you show is a Model "C" in mahogany. A very scare model in this wood. Picture curiosity of the 'Mr Gramophone' web site.

Happy Canada Day....( in my callow youth it was Dominion Day
) Wonderful collection of machines!
Here's an old Canadian bud of mine....it's a Sherlock Manning machine made in London by one of the myriad of piano manufacturers in Ontario. I had just tarted up the finish in order to...sell it... 30 years ago. Vain regrets now. I had gone to university and my parents were pushing me to get rid of the machines. The moral? Ignore family.

Happy Canada Day Pete. Several of those machines look very familiar to me. Everything in the room displays beautifully. What are you look for currently. I may be able to help you. Send me an email.
