WANTED: Edison 2 min cylinder; She was a grand old lady
WANTED: The cylinder that I am looking for is probably not all that popular or desirable except to myself, just hard to find. If someone has an extra that they wish to sell please reply. The title is; "She was a grand old lady" by Harvey Hindermeyer. It is a two minute Edison gold moulded cylinder no. 9614. It also may have been cut on a Columbia wax cylinder as well but I cannot say for sure? Either one is fine. Thank you all!

Re: Looking for a cylinder record
Could you please format your original post as a WANTED... to comply with the Yankee Trader posting guidelines? Otherwise your post might get deleted. Here is a link to the guidelines. http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... =9&t=14087
Thanks

Re: Looking for a cylinder record
First, you are in the correct section, but your post title does not conform to the standards. Read the post at the beginning of the Yankee Trader forum and edit your post, otherwise the moderator may delete your post without notice or warning.
Second, it's always helpful to know the make, type, and catalog number of any record you are hunting for. In this case, it's a 2 minute Edison record, catalog number 9614. I would suggest you add this info to your post title as well.
WANTED: Cylinder Record - is very broad - which of the thousands of records interests you?
WANTED: Cylinder Record of "She Was a Grand Old Lady" - provides detail that lets me know whether or not to open the thread.
I hope you find your record.

I have a copy somewhere. I'll try to find it and let you know the condition.

I have been looking for this cylinder for years in all the wrong places and wouldn't you know I found it immediately on this site. You guys are awesome. Thanks Jan!!!!
If there is anything that I can do for this organization please let me know. My collection is not extensive nor of a great value as I am retired and on S.S. but I have collected since the early 60's.
I have many incredible stories of the easy acquisition of early machines decades ago and some wonderful stories of pioneer friends in the field that started collecting decades before me. These early collectors were amassing these machines when they were considered next to worthless but in their very wise speculation they could see that one day the love of collecting was going to explode.
Their foresight paved a way for all of the rest of us as thousands of machines and records were saved from extinction.
Thanks again!
