Phonographs At The Portland Antique Show

Post by startgroove »

Lori and I attended the Portland Antique Show over the weekend. Several phonographs and other related items were displayed, though I thought the two photos here of phonograph vendors were especially displayable because both vendors had Operas on hand (there is one in the first photo hidden behind the Hexaphone). Speaking of opera, the third photo shows a Black Patti poster that was sold early in the show.

I wish our antique shows had machines show up like that.

I am a newbie and the only thing I picked up was a Vogue picture disc for $10. Saw Jerry, Stan, Brice, and Jay there. They did not find much that I heard. Someone scored with the Black Patti poster. The dealer with the good machines wanted a lot for them.

Wolfe,
Yep, I saw several lots of cylinder and early disc records. We picked up a few ourselves. Cheers, Russie
