I still have the L-Door I'm selling, which is fully described here: http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... =9&t=26751 so I've decided to sweeten up the deal and bundle it with my VV-XVIII, which is in very nice shape from the knees up, but needs significant veneer restoration toward the bottom. I was going to do this restoration myself, but with a move coming up soon, I don't expect to have the time or the workshop space to do it.
Both of these machines should go in one sale. I will not sell the XVIII by itself; I'll take it with me if I have to, and hope that I'll get around to it someday. I'd like $1650 for both
machines.
Attached are some pictures that show the XVIII's damaged veneer in the worst possible light, so as to give an honest idea of what needs to be repaired. I have the piece that is missing from the right front door. Some of the thin beaded trim is missing, but could be reproduced or cannibalized from the back doors of the machine, which are in restorable condition, but already missing some of the bottom trim. There's some damage on top of the lid where someone obviously kept a plant or wet vase long ago.
Both machines are on the second floor. I won't be able to help you take them down, so bring help. Again, I'm just a couple minutes off Rt. 95 in Providence, RI.
If interested, another hundred dollars will get you a rough but restorable and complete VV-XIV along with several motors and springs in various conditions, as well as four or five Victor turntables from the 'teens and twenties and four or five taper-tubes of similar vintage -- and probably a bunch of other stuff that I haven't dug out yet. Basically a restorable XIV and a lot of spare parts. But that's all optional add-on -- what I'm really selling here is the L-Door and the XVIII, as a bundle.
Please alert me in the thread if you send me a PM -- I visit the forum often but I don't always log in. Thanks!

Reduced to $1500 for both, package deal. If I don't sell these they'll have to go into storage.

Re: FOR SALE: BUNDLE - L-Door XVI and Very Fixable XVIII - $
OK, $1450 for both. I can't go much lower, but I really don't want to put these in a hot attic. C'mon guys -- a really nice L-Door with the boxes plus what will be a very fine XVIII once the veneer is restored? How can you beat $1450 for both machines? Can't!

I can be contacted directly by members or non-members of the forum at [email protected]
Please ignore the offer in my original post of the XIV and parts for $100. Those can be taken for free if buying the other two machines, or if you happen to be a young collector, (without the L-Door and XVIII, of course).
