Surprise Find In A Group Of Mostly Uncle Josh Cylinders
I was so happy to find this cylinder,#5553 Mamma's Grown Younger, among a group of cylinders that I recently bought. I don't usually find much in the way of cylinders in my area, so it was nice to know that some may be out there.
I guess that's what keeps us all out looking.

Like when that happens!
Before I knew anything about such things, I found a pretty pink cylinder and swopped it for a bunch of ordinary ones. That was the only one I've seen in my parts.
I have my share of good fortune since, so I guess it's all good!
James.

When I bought my Standard B from a local antique store it was being displayed with a pink Blue Amberol cylinder on it.

That record is called a "Royal Purple." One of Edison's line of cylinder records with more serious music on them.Phonoboy wrote:When I bought my Standard B from a local antique store it was being displayed with a pink Blue Amberol cylinder on it.

Makes sense to me. The song is Long Long Ago by Frieda Hempel.phonogfp wrote:That record is called a "Royal Purple." If I found one of those Columbia BC(6 inch)cylinders locally for a low price I'd grab it.However, none of my machines can play them.edisonplayer
