Wanted - Edison Standard, Model B, case parts

Post by 7309 »

I have two Edison Standards, Model B. Both of the tops are missing the front and rear moldings. If you know anyone who makes these parts or if anyone has them for sale, I would appreciate knowing about it. Thanks.

You might post photos of the lids. If my memory is correct there is some difference from early to late Model B Standard lid molding. (or was it Model D lids?)

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. The photos show what the item looks like that I am missing, and one of the machines that I need the trim for. I hope the pictures are good enough for you to see what I need. Thanks

Yep.
That is a typical Tall style lid used on model Bs. The Late style lid doesn't have the extra little "lip" at the bottom. I seem to recall somebody doing a run of replacement trim years ago. Another possibility is contacting one of the dealers for used pieces. Good luck!

You might try Mark Gaiser who goes by the name of Croakinfrog on Ebay.

Thanks for the information. I will try Croaking Frog on Ebay. I was hoping that someone was making the trim parts. I have seen quite a few Edison machines that are missing trim.

No, I am afraid no one seems to have the trim that we both need. I thought surely someone had a lid or two that was too far gone to repair. I had also heard that someone (?) made a batch of these trim pieces for sale but no further information on that. I am still looking.

Ok thanks. I have a place in mind to see about making new ones. I'll post a new thread (and PM you) if I have luck.

I'm assuming quartersawn white oak?
