I just recieved the Pathé Coquet with the "Système Vérité" rails that I won at the Donley Auction. The machine runs fine but is missing the connector that goes between the reproducer and the horn. I do not know if it's rubber or some other material. If anyone can give me information on it or help me find one I would greatly appreciate it. I was also fortunate enough to have a forum member sell me nine Pathé Salon cylinders in thier original boxes all in excellent condition.

Re: WANTED: Pathé Coquet Reproducer/Horn Conector
I don't know of anyone reproducing these rubber connectors. If anyone does I would be interested in one as well. On my Pathé modele 0 I used a piece of rubber hose like those to connect Edison horns. It fits very tight on the horn side and loose on the reproducer side. Then I fabricated a crimping hose clamp for the reproducer side. Not exactly like the original, but it works and is presentable. Loose originals are impossible to find, maybe together with a reproducer.
Good luck!

There was someone selling superb repros of that tube on eBay France a few months ago but I can't find any listed now and I failed to make a note of the seller's username.

Alain Floch (eBay seller 'chataigneraie72') from France also sells exact replicas of the Pathé rubber connectors, as well as various other Pathé accessories for cylinder players: sapphires mounted on domes, floating reproducers in nice replica boxes (red or green), glass diaphragms, rubber gaskets... You can reach him by email at 'lescentrifuges(at sign)gmail(dot)com'
I know that he was selling the rubber connectors for 39.00€ (42$US) less than a year ago.
Rich: The "Système Vérité" is quite an interesting contraption. I find that it is especially important to keep all parts properly lubricated, most especially before the playback of the fragile Pathé cylinders. Somehow their larger salon/inter and concert/stentor size cylinders seem to be more prone to damage than the standard size ones... Hope you're enjoying the lovely Pathé Coquet along with its "Système Vérité"!
