Wooden Horn eBay

Post by kumbo1899 »

Check this out. Others have commented but seller relisted and put $1200 reserve on it.

A simple inquiry brought this from the seller.

First the inquiry:

Hello, have never seen a horn like you are offering. Do you have any photos, publications, advertising, or other examples of the horn other than yours?
It is a great looking horn but my friend says its fake because Columbia is spelled wrong . Why did you pull it and put it higher reserve?

Now the response

Columbia is spelled correctly. I could care less what your friend says! Just because you have not seen a horn like this, certainly does not mean it s fake. This horn is amazing!!! Go buy yourself a reproduction one and stop wasting my time! Thanks and God Bless

I really like the "God Bless" at the end. Gee guess I better hit the books. L Hawes-Seattle

Actually, it's not a fake... there would have to be an original horn like it for someone to copy as a fake. It really is a one of a kind homemade, ugly, worthless piece of cr@p... "Bless his heart..."

You gotta love the horn elbow which appears to have been made from a piece of plumbing pipe and bondo...

Look, I told you in a previous post it is a genuine COLUMBLA horn, not Columbia.

He canceled all the bids on the original listing and closed the auction. I guess he wasn't happy that it was pretty much tapped out at $51 or so. Now it's listed as a direct Buy It Now sale at $1200. Good luck with that. God bless, indeed!

Sellers like that aren't worth the bother of passing information. Look at the reproducer/arm assembly and the other crap they are selling. It does make good entertainment, though. That's why we have this Forum so nobody falls into these traps and wastes their money.

Whatta maroon....Now help me out here. I'm confused. Does "fake reproduction" connote something genuine? Or is the seller's creative dyslexia getting the better of him again?
