For The Love Of Margie!

Margie has endured decades of popularity.

I could not easily find any popular recordings of Margie on youtube after 1959, that does not mean she was completely forgotten.
Aside from some of us music nuts playing 78s, musicians still know this standard.

I skipped the 1940s to leave this little gem for last.
Make some time for this movie. I think many of us here will enjoy it.

(Just try to ignore that a high school teacher takes an interest in a student.) :o

There's also a good version by Eddie Cantor on Emerson.

I saw Dave Brubeck in concert a few years before he passed. He played Margie that night, and I suspect not one person in 4 in the audience had ever heard that song before...

I've enjoyed playing Frank Crumits version for years.

But the YouTube uploads of the record sound like doo-da. Better heard when it's sharp and clear.
