While an uncommon machine, this would appear to be two or three standard deviations from the mean on the bell curve.

I would have to agree that the price paid was a anomaly on the high end. Let us not forget there was a Amberola B1 in fair shape that went for $600. Now that is on the low end of prices for a not very common phonograph. So we had the ying and the yang of pricing at this auction.
This also was a large "hoard" of machines to come on to the market. Maybe that had something to do with the prices achieved. For myself there was a tinge of sadness in Mr. Boker's collection, as there was no way he could ever enjoy all of it. From what information I could pick up the majority of the collection was packed away in a basement and storage on one of the family's rental property. Where's the fun in that?
Part II of this estate is next weekend. I will be at Grayslake Flea Market hunting for records and meeting up with friends.
