Well it depends on whether you want sentiment and pathos - Jolson, or comedy, Cantor. It's like comparing apples and oranges. I think they are both great. I think The Jazz Singer is Jolson's best movie, and Whoopee and Palmy Days are Cantor's best.

I have a special place in my heart for Eddie Cantor.I remember my grandma telling me they had an Edison Diamond Disc phonograph in the 1920's.One record they had was Eddie Cantor singing,"If You Knew Susie".Her brother George liked it so much and played it so much that my grandma told me,"Mother and I wished it would break!"Of course,they had an adapter so George could play the Eddie Cantor on the family's Edison.I'd LOVE to find a copy for sentimental reasons.It's Columbia 364-D.edisonplayer
