Edison Diamond Disc, Prototype?
This was in a pile at an antique store. Most of the others in the pile were from the teens. I've never seen a diamond disc with this logo. Does anyone know when its from and what it's purpose was? Maybe the paper label just fell off?

Re: Edison Diamond Disc, Prototype?
That's a pretty standard label from mid-to-late 1921. It's the last form of engraved label before and during the transition to paper labels. This copy is also a reissue, as #80167 would have been originally released in 1914.
There is an excellent book called the "Collector's Guide to Edison Records" that shows examples of all the Edison labels and explains how to date the pressings. Published by Monarch Record Enterprises in Tustin, CA. Authors are Copeland and Sherman.
