Anyone here have experience with cleaning up an "as found" Credenza with tooled leather front?
I'm wondering if the one pictured is a "diamond in the rough."
The wood cabinet does not look bad.
All comments greatly appreciated and taken under advisement.

Absolutely! The decorations on the leather are covered in shellac, which darkens with age and dirt. Its just like cleaning a shellac finish on a cabinet, and I use GOOP or Gojo to do it. Takes a few applications, and you might have to work it in with a brush, but most of the dirt should come up.
