I am the person who bought the phonograph from this seller. I certainly had no intention of buying this out from under you , but I got the impression from you initial post that you really had little interest in it because you really wanted to add a Diamond Disc machine to your collection. I followed this post and did not contact the seller until last night when I realized that you had not. It was not going to sit there very long, and not knowing if you were going to move on it, I emailed him and struck a deal. I'm sorry about the way it worked out. It does have a great deal of damage to the grille, but I plan on working on that. I have a Oak Edison Chippendale upright that I would sell to you very cheap to try to make it up to you if you are interested. Let me know.

Well, I've been a little reluctant about making a reply Bill, But George is right. It's first come first serve.

I just thought me and Mattrx being the only major members in Tennessee, that no one else would go through such the trouble and expense for an off-brand.(So i'd be save to share it.) But you communicated with the seller better so my hat's off to you.

Being only thirties minutes away, the seller moving, the research, etc, is what really changed my mind. But I shouldn't have started off seeing it as a spectacle. (I'm a little disappointed but nothing to call the president over.)

I hope you fix the grill and share some photos when you're finished. .

Benjamin; I never intended to buy this out from under you, from your posts I assumed that you posted this with no interest in buying it. Now that I know that you do want it, I will contact the seller and tell him that you will be contacting him to buy it. I never let a phonograph cause any ill will between anyone and myself. I have included all the pictures that were sent to me so that you and the forum can see the machine a little better. As I said, the grill has quite a bit of damage, but I think that it can be restored. Let me know if you want to do this, I am more than happy to email the seller with this.

Now this is incredible. Not only is that a beauty of a machine, Bill has completely restored my faith in humanity. That's awesome, Bill, and so very nice of you. I've had some good stuff get away from me, even though I was first on the spot with cash on a particularly desirable machine. Someone showed up just after I had left and decided to "raise the bar" and left with the machine after the owner promised me we basically had a deal, he just wanted to confirm with family that my offer was enough. Needless to say, I wasted an entire day making arrangements to get there first and make the deal. The buyer happens to be a friend and I have no ill will over it, but had it been the other way around, I never would have interfered had I known what the buyer did know and went ahead anyway, that's never been my style.

Bravo!

Sean

I agree with George, a buyer who is gracious enough to give up a "find" to another collector is a Wow. I've never met Bill, but he has a good name in this hobby. If you post it publicly it's up for grabs.

Another WOW!!! from me also. This is perhaps the most attractive 'off-brand' models I've seen. Great score....

Bill, It's yours! You contacted the seller and had a better deal. I shouldn't have been skeptical and left my decision on it up to interpretation. You're right, I was uncertian, you had the complete right to contact him Since I was undecided. I trully don't mind!

(You may even be able to fix the grill better than myself!) But I didn't want the impression that I seemed a sore loser, it really is yours!

Seconded, thirded, and fourthed!

Whoever gets this, please do some research, take some great photos, and post as a Featured Phonograph! I'm really curious about what's painted, what's lacquered, what's inlaid, etc.

All I can say is: Bill, that was a very generous offer. From the time Benjamin posted this, I encouraged him to pull the trigger - IMMEDIATELY! I would have bought it if it was closer...

(I've privately messaged Bill, and I think he has the higher chance of getting it.)

The neat thing about this machine is the Fletcher parts, which CDBPDX(Cliff) showed in one of his videos.
