My set came this morning, I was pleasantly surprised that they got here so fast. What a great resource these will be---and already have been! A great bargain, I think, for all of the information these four volumes contain, and I've only scarcely begun to read over them.

Thanks again to the crew at the APS for making these available to us. Years ago, there was an advert for door hardware that read "Good hardware doesn't cost, it PAYS". I use the phrase often at work when trying to coax reluctant customers to fork over a few extra bucks for nicer door hardware. I would suggest that the phrase could be applied to belonging to the APS. One's membership doesn't so much "cost" as it "pays", in providing so much great information about this hobby to us all.

Thanks to the APS so much, mine got in today! The box did split a bit at the seams because it was so heavy, but thankfully everything is in excellent shape.

I really love the additional articles and quotes from Edison (and others) about performers. One can make some assumptions about [popular] public opinion on performance styles, but to see it in writing is very interesting.

My spiral bound set just arrived. Very pleased with the quality. Another good resource for my little phonograph library.

The section on TAE's notes on artists and songs to record in volume 1 is fascinating. It is easy to see how he indeed impeded the market success of Diamond Discs--not to mention being somewhat abusive to employees.
